Cold Open On Anger And Danger

SPEAKER_01

Um the other thing it does is it puts you or the road users and that person in danger or flight. And that's exactly what you don't need when you're in charge of a two to three ton vehicle, the self, based on something that, in my opinion, was not a time for war. It was a time for peace, your sovereignty, because you have allowed someone else to dictate your mood, dictate your direction, and dictate well said.

SPEAKER_00

I know those who love the victim mentality, you are beyond triggered.

New Season And A Detox

SPEAKER_02

Welcome everyone to the new season of Politically High Tech. This is gonna be a bit of a shorter one because you know I'm more politically involved with other things. So just keep talking about it, push for change as well. You know, and just to make this very brief, because we're not gonna be this is not gonna be very political heavy. I know you're tired of the politics. Sometimes I am too. I have to take detox breaks, believe me. I get you. I get you. I understand you completely. Trust me, it's not gonna be Trump bashing or Biden bashing because I don't like both parties. We're gonna have to learn about what it means to be human, understand your quirks, why some people get offended when you when you joke and some people just laugh, for example, or why people get scared of a big cockroach, and some were just rushing just to kill it. Something like that. Well, you know, you want to have self-awareness because personally, I could say I think people is lacking more self-awareness than ever. I don't know, I have something to do with the you know, we just spending too much time with technology, we're not socializing with people like we used to, but we get it, but we do have a creator here, and I like a call an expert. Well, he he could debate that if he wants. Um you know, and look, he's a creative, uh, he's a creator of personality peak. Okay, and this is something, this is not like your stupid buzz-free quiz that gives you an idiotic result when you take it. Like, for example, you know, if some of them are silly and fun, and you should know that silly and fun is nothing insightful. This one here is different, it's gonna be more insightful, and it's gonna integrate the wisdom of stoicism. Well, I'm gonna let them break down what that means. Okay, and I've talked about stoicism a few times, not a lot, but this is more of a self-development kind of episode. So don't worry. Not a lot of politics. Trust me, I'm still on a break, but I sadly gonna have to get back to it because I need to know what the heck is going on. You know, rather you love or hate Trump, sadly, I gotta be politically aware. And it comes with a territory. I'm surprised not all my hairs are gray yet, especially watch the video version. I maintain some youth. Um, but here we are, because at the end of the day, you cannot put these politicians as gods. You're gonna be very disappointed nine out of ten times. Even your favorite, even your favorite politician, they're gonna disappoint you because they gotta serve it intro or they serve it their ideology, whatever. It you know, and I'm not gonna go too much about it. So I know I kind of ramble a little bit on the intro, hopping for politics and personality, but we're gonna stick to personality from here on in. You can say, shut up, Elias. We know already, we know politics. Great, I'll show up now. Let's introduce Arky Jones, and I'm gonna let him elaborate the um on the introduction, what personality seek is because you want to know about these things, and I think it's very important. I think for me personally, we are forgetting how to be human and why are we you know different? Some are hyper, and some sound you know, like drowsy, they're gonna put you asleep when they talking. Some sound really hyper. Oh, hi, how you doing today? So much energy, right? So we're gonna learn about all these things here. Alrighty then. Take it away. Feel free to introduce yourself, talk about what personality peak is and take it away from here.

What Personality Peak Tries To Fix

SPEAKER_01

No worries. Thank you so much, Elias. Thanks for having me on. I'm excited to be here. So, Personality Peak. What is it's over a decade of work that became a natural flow for me after I wrote a book called Applied Stoicism. And then following the book Applied Stoicism, I wrote a book called Don't Give Two Shits. These were both kind of I wrote them to help myself actually to because I'd identified that I was allowing external factors and I was looking for validation outside of the self when I realized that the only thing that I could truly control was me. And it was it was a slow realization, but the more maximally truth-seeking I became with myself, believe it or the more fulfilling my life became because I could control the variables that is where I diverted my attention to, and things that were beyond my control, I was able to let go of. Now, personality peak itself, I actually Elias is absolutely right that there are clinically validated tests that can be quite boring, and there's some tests that, like you said, you do, and it's like you are a lemon, and and then that's the end of the feedback. It's like great. What personality peak games should do is the middle ground. So I would I would advocate you very heavily that life is a game and life should be enjoyed the way a game is done, and during a game, there are challenges, there are things that go wrong in and things that go well, and when it goes well, you get rewarded, you do more of that. Personality peak is a six-dimensional quiz, so it's two to the power of, and you end up with 64 dimensions because there's six, there's sorry, 64 arch types, my apologies are last six dimensions, and what I tried to do was show a large range of the most common human binaries. So the most common things were you you have choices to make and then extrapolate that over the six dimensions with ultimately aiming to give you the most accurate test possible. Now, technology-wise, I developed this model called the arch typical spectral model because the spectrum of the archetype, and of course, we had Jung, his he's had 12 major archetypes, but I that it it didn't really reflect what I was trying to do. What I was trying to do is show people who you are at this moment in time when you take the test and own that space because it is it is as accurate as it can be. Some of the tests they used are liked it system, which is like, yes, maybe somewhat a lot. Some use numbers like one to ten, how much you believe it. I use a scale where you can drag it to the exact percentage that you agree with that wording, and that is tracked in the calculations along with the overall dimensional choices. And what that means is when you take the test at that time, you get what I believe is as inaccurate as possible, but also something to be enjoyed, that you can then use the benchmark to where you go. So the philosop what one of the not the entire philosophy behind it, but one of the major philosophies behind this is I realized that where we put our attention was the direction that we went in. I also, if you if you think about this, I've been working on this about 10 years. It and then I managed to pull it together about 12 months ago to 18 months ago, and it's it's starting to be launched this year formally. We've done the testing. But what happened around the feed became more and more invasive into our lives, feeding us small mini dopamine hits through TikTok, Twitter, you name it. And that was when I was like, okay, there is something deeply wrong with the way our brains are being hijacked. But how can I first help myself and then through that research share it with other people alive? So that was kind of the journey what brought me to doing it and the bit of the basic of the technology behind it. So it aims to give you a snapshot in time with real direction, real blind spots, very

Six Dimensions And 64 Archetypes

SPEAKER_01

honest, but at the same time, it doesn't try to tell you who you are going to be. It says this is what your traits indicate you are acting and portraying yourself to the world right now, a pattern, so to speak, so it tracks patterns.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, there are people like I said, it's not a stupid buzz fee quiz that, like, look, you get a results, okay. You're a super bitchy woman, for example, just say like that. Oh, that's great. And you know, you know, you're gonna reject that kind of results. Oh, I'm not this super bitchy woman. And why do women have to be bitchy? You know, so you're gonna question that right away if you know if you're using your two brain cells. But if you should accept it, you think you're a super bitchy person, no, self-fulfilling prophecy, right? You become a super self, you know, super bitchy person. It doesn't have to be women either. There's trust me, there's plenty of men that that fit in that description as well. Oh, if you know my workplace, trust me. I you know, I used to think I used to think women were the were the more um wildly emotional ones. Yeah, I learned that it's actually a little more it's more convoluted than that. And the way I see it, I think men are actually hitting there. This is coming from a guy, everyone. I'm not pro-women or pro-man, I'm just pro humans, get together, people, we are social beings. That's my point, okay? I mean, not all men are dumb either. I hear that comment from Terry from women a lot. It keeps doing the same loop of insanity. So yeah, I push right against both gen. I'm not that chauvinist, I'm not the ultra feminist either, because I think they both are ideologically dangerous. The man is fear versus the feminist. They both are dangerous. Both of them. You know, we are needed, okay? And and listen, at the end of the day, I'm just gonna say this. It is good to be self-aware, and I think that's one of the big things that caught my attention. Because you know, a lot of them just somewhat agree, somewhat disagree, and neutral, right? And then they got wording in between, and some of them have very few of them has that um precise um bar thing you can interact with, go from I'm just gonna use percentage from zero to a hundred percent, right? But I think those are the more detailed ones, I think those are more helpful because they're trying to dig deep into it. So just strongly agree, neutral, disagree, disagreed, and strongly disagree, right? And I mean, yeah, they they're getting somewhere, but I just fight they just barely crack it to the surface. Here is you gotta get deep and be honest. I mean, that does help too with all of this. Be honest, it's not about who you're trying to impress, it's about improving who you are. And you know, I began, you know, I believe that philosophy more. Life is a game. Before I I used to if you were to talk to me like 10 years ago, I said, What the hell's wrong with you? Life is not a game. They give me my lives. Where's my five lives? So if I jump out the window and I resurrect, you know, it's not it's not that kind of game. It's uh it's a very it's a tough game. You got one life, maybe there's resurrection if you pray to the right divine being. I'm not gonna get into that. I'm gonna be super spiritual, but there are challenges and there's rewards. It depends what you choose to you know to pursue. You want to be, I don't know, wealthy, famous, or knowledgeable, you want to be the best in well, let's well, I'm gonna just drive the hype that happened. You know, the basketball team Knicks haven't won a championship in 53 years, and they finally did it because they had the right team and everything. They acted crazy and all that. I got my criticisms, but you had the point because they worked as a team, it wasn't just one guy, you know, being greedy with the ball, using ego, just oh, I'm the best, but yet the team could perform as well because this guy was just sucking the ball of glory. Everything is about me, and that's why I felt like with Carmelo Anthony, okay. I know I don't normally talk about sports, but there's a reason why, okay. They had a great team, they had Jaden Brunson, level-headed. I would say he's kind of slow, he's not the most expressive person, but he works into the team's strengths, and that's what made a difference. Okay, and then he had, you know, he had people playing their shrimps, and and the fellow Puerto Rican, Jose Alvarado, he knocked down the tallest guys, that's why he knocked them down. He got right back up. He did some interesting maneuver that made a tall guy trip, and now he's in disgrace. So, you know, and look, he was determined. I said, listen, don't don't mess with a certain ethnic group, you know what I mean? Uh, cuz we take we just take being pushed the shelf very personally, and sometimes we're a little too crazy, but he channeled that craziness in the right way, in my opinion, just knock him down and just approve a point, not bashing his head open and killing him because okay, that's just that's just tragic for everybody. So know who you are. Oh, and then another thing I'd like to add, just as a question, are you willing to confront head on or avoid conflict? That's another thing. Me, I almost me, I'll try to avoid conflict, but if I'm but if I see no other option, I'm going to your face. I'll be getting shocked once I start confronting head on. So, oh my goodness, I wish you would have done this earlier. I said, No, I need to get all the facts or so I didn't see no other option, and then boom. That's what I do. But some people they confront right away, even they don't get all the facts because they just feel hurt, and then it just those that they try to avoid conflict no matter what. That's a personality thing, too. And you know, just be honest when you answer those kind of questions. I don't know what kind of questions they got. I won't be surprised if they got something like that. Feel free to correct me here. This is your product. And you know, I you gotta know yourself. That's the whole thing. That's what I'm bringing all these crazy examples. Know yourself and and be self-aware. Why or why you react viscerally, you know. Maybe you get very angry when someone hits a baby and you wanna beat up the mother, you know, for example, or father, you know, whoever where is the parent abusing the child? And some people like nothing happened. Not my kid, not my problem. So people react differently to the same situation. And you know, these are just probably dramatic examples, but they're the ones that if you pay attention, it could be very insightful. Maybe you could change your change your ways. Again, it takes effort because we are a creature of habit. I believe we could change, but the longer you more, the longer the habits ingrained, the harder it's gonna be as well. So this could be an enlightening. And um, feel free to break down what you mean by stoicism, because not everybody knows that crazy term, or just feel free to add anything down to it in general.

SPEAKER_01

So, first of all, let me let me let's just say that with the human beings, we are a tapestry

Stoicism And The Cut-Off Driver

SPEAKER_01

of our history, and what's brought us to this point today is the sum of our experience in the past. Plus, I genuinely believe in heritage, in that clective memory from 10,000 years ago, it lives on within us, within each generation. I think this instinct, I think it's real. And so, firstly, when I when I say this in us, in people, there is a time for war, and there is a time for peace, okay? And so, if genuinely a time for war and there is no other choice, then it comes and you have to do what you have to do. However, let's just scale it right back now. So let's give an example that most people can relate to. When you're driving in a vehicle and somebody cuts you up in traffic, many human beings will speed up, raise a fist, give a middle finger, raise their voice. What that does is it does a couple of things. One, it gives ownership of self to the other person. So you have now handed ownership of yourself to the other person who's provoked you. The other thing it does is it puts you, other road users, and that person in danger. The other thing it does physiologically is it dumps adrenaline into the system. When the adrenaline dumps into the system, that redirects blood flow from your brain to your muscles. So fight or flight. And that's exactly what you don't need when you're in charge of a two to three ton vehicle that not thinking clearly. So basically, what you've done is you've surrendered ownership of the self based on something that, in my opinion, was not a time for war, it was a time for peace. And you have then gone, become angry because of someone else's actions, and in that moment, you have lost your sovereignty because you have allowed someone else to dictate your mood, dictate your direction, and dictate your attention. The other thing when you react that way is that you often will go home, you might talk to your partner about it, you might go to work and be like, this idiot cut me off on the and your day changes because of that consequence. And also, what are you going to do? Are you going to run them down and pull out the car and beat them up? And then what? Then what? Go to jail, and then what? You know, it it it it the consequences are real. Whereas if you just pulled back, you assumed they needed a poo, and they were they were in a rush, none of this happens, none of this cascade happens, and you travel on your way exactly the way you would have gone, maintaining complete ownership of the self. And so this is what this is where I would say the question that you asked about stoicism comes in. Now, stoicism is not the be all and end all to this. This is this is a consequence action proposition that I've just said. And and the problem is that in one way the consequences is next to nothing. Nothing's actually happened. The other way, the consequences are catastrophic for no reason, and you've lost a little bit of control. So when it comes to control, what can we control? Our thoughts, our actions, our judgments, our character. Yep. That is what we can control. And and in owning that maximally, it will free you to, it will free you to focus on things that you can influence directions. You can go and words put your attention. But other people, even outcomes. Let's say we've worked six months on a project and the boss bigs up the guy that did nothing. The outcome, you can't change that in that moment. Judgments, or you know, people, the way people judge, you can't control that. And and things, I a bit of a bit of a silly thing, like the weather or or interest rates, it just it's just beyond our control. And so for me, the biggest cardinal virtue this is part of the stoicism, there's wisdom, courage, justice, and one called temperance, but the the one for me really stays with me is is this is that if you allow, if you allow yourself to do things that you knowingly know are not right, or you go with the grain knowing that it doesn't sit well with you, then that in itself, that in itself is you no longer be having ownership and and you being dictated to. And so one thing, Alasha mentioned earlier, that with a decision that you've made, is you said that you're an independent. And so you've had value proposition from X, value proposition from Y, they no longer suit you. So what you can do is you can control the direction of your attention, and you've focused it onto stuff that you can actually get in with. And what you will do is sit in the background, you'll evaluate the best evidence available to you, and then choose the direction of your attention from that point on. But at all times, you maintain ownership. So I think the biggest thing I would say with this is that anger, hatred, and even allowing others to dictate your mood, you lose a little bit of the self in every moment, and and it was always beyond your control. So, therefore, for me, unless it is a time for war and the barbarians are at the gates, the wolves are coming to take the baby, then there is always a better solution, and that better solution is one that you maintain control in.

SPEAKER_00

Well said, I know those who love the victim mentality, you are beyond triggered.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, and let me just use his name. Oh, it's Arkey's fault. He made me Meg. He says, I'm in control. No, but this person cursed me out. He and he cut me off. And trust me, what you said is a very good example because that is the everyday New York experience owning the car. So that's a very good example, very good, and I didn't say so much about my New York roots, so excellent example. Just give me extra phrase on that one because that is everyday experience. You know, they flip the bird, they curse at their mother, their grandmothers to the grave, all the good stuff. And every once in a while they come out the car, whack the car, or the person. And then just like you said, you just gave you gave up control. And those of you who embrace the victim mentality, I know you hate hearing this, but too bad. Too bad. So sad. You could choose to, and this is very bold of me, not pay attention to this podcast anymore because you got more control than you think. Or you could turn this into a lesson. At the end of the day, it's your choice. It's your choice. I know it's tough for some of you, especially those who are in an emotional, vulnerable state. I get it. And then, you know, sometimes you eventually pick up the message once you're more in a calm, sober state, not being drunk with anger, I'm gonna call it. I know it's a little spicy way of saying it. So yeah, this is you know, this is some valuable stuff. And why are we why

Dopamine Hijack And Raising Resilient Kids

SPEAKER_02

are we talking about personality and all this stuff? It's because I think we have forgotten that. And I love when he said that. Our brains are hijacked, our dopamine receptors are just beyond fried. I think it could be a good grill machine at this point. That's how burnt and hot they are. Just throw a bacon in there or some meat. It'll be a good cooker at this point. Okay, it's just yeah, especially among the younger folks. I mean, I'm considered a millennial. I told the Gen Z and the Alpha Brains, forget it. They are they were they're already being hijacked during development. And I was saying the millennials to a certain to a lesser degree. Because these things are popping up more frantically when I was already getting to my you know late teens, early adulthood, so it didn't affect the the development of the brain that as much as the other generations. And I'm happy that they're doing something about it. I wish America would do something, but it's run by corporations, so those are not coming up, they're not gonna pop up anytime soon for America. Happy that I think UK Stance, I think Australia, yeah, Australia pioneer the social media bands for all miners. And I agree. I agree with a band for minors. I totally agree. But America, I know, I know the reality of America, and they're not going to anytime soon because they have heavy influence on the government. No social media giants. So that's the difference with America compared to the rest of the world. And that's something that we need to get better at. We gotta take lead from other countries. I I will praise America when we do the right thing, but here I won't be surprised, it'll probably take us like five to ten years before we start drafting meaningful restrictions among minors because they can't handle social media. Mental illness, mental illness is through the roof, self-esteem is compromised, and they're just listening to all these idiotic trends. I don't know, sniff glue. Your breathing will get better. Oh, put you know, put the little tape thing in your mouth. I mean, these stupid things that you know is gonna impact you negatively, and go ahead and argue with me. Is your kid still alive? Thank you. Because you didn't why you didn't do your job as a parent. Don't come project your anger out on me just because you failed. That's on you, parents. I know that's tough. And I don't have a kid yet because I know mentally I'm not ready to have one. I made that responsibility because I know when I know I'm ready, I'm ready. People have to be more self-aware of that. Be honest with yourself. Me personally, I'm not ready for a kid. I know I'm not. I'm in my 30s. I know I'm not. But once I'm ready, I'll be ready and I'll be locked in to be a great damn father. Okay? As of now, I know I'm not. I'm great as an uncle, I'm great as a babysitter, but that's nothing compared to being a father. That's 24-7. If you want to be a good father, that's part-time. Uncle, part-time, babysitter, part-time. There's escape routes. But fatherhood, motherhood, be a dedicated parent, there's no escape routes. It's gonna be timing, it's gonna be rewarding, okay? So why I bring this up is because you gotta be self-aware. You have to be self-aware, even if people think you're weird for it, and people think I'm weird for it. And you know, to be honest, I don't give a shit. I know what's best for me, and you need and just like you refer to external validation. You say, I didn't get external validation, I got I got external criticism. Sometimes you just gotta say, fuck off. You don't know my life, you're not in it. So if you're gonna take advice, take advice that's helpful and relevant, not something you know is gonna be bad, and it's something you're not sure about, talk to someone who's been through those experiences who will give you honest feedback. All right, so that's what I'm gonna say about that. I know I drifted off the bit there, but you know, this is again self-awareness, and I always said external validation. Yeah, because I know because we human beings, we love external validation, we hardwired, we love it. Sometimes even if we say I don't give a shit, most of the time we care. Spoiler alert, because we are social beings, it's ingrained in DNA. I don't care what God you believe in, or you or you don't, but we are hardwired for this, okay? And in knowing this, you don't know how to interact better, and knowing what you should stay away from and what you should double down in, okay. This is why this is so important. I know some of you can say so what? Well, so what to you too then? Go please go be stupid and don't spread your stupidity to others. Okay, be mindful of that at least. Come on, I mean, come on. You could give me constructive criticism. Trust me, some of you have some of you are on point, and I won't even debate it. Okay, and one of them said I should have done deeper research on the guy, and yeah, I and that I'm not gonna argue against him because yeah, I should have, and that guess is never coming back. Okay, but next time, just bring evidence if you're gonna say the guess is bad. Don't just spew it out of emotion, bring evidence because I don't go by emotional stoicism, right? Be accountable for your actions is a major part. I I study stoicism, I dabbled into it. I'm not gonna be an expert, but I'm not expert by any means, but I dabbled into it. I think that's a big thing is stoicism, self-control, so forth. It was like the key thing being stoned and looking like this, you know, look like a stone face all the time. Because we don't stoic is you don't show expression. No, it has nothing to do with that. I used to think the same thing too. I said, Oh, I gotta be cool no matter what. Oh, well, the girls cry to stay stone faced. Oh, what happens is I stay stone faced. I used to be that used to be my misunderstanding. And you know what? Let's get to the

Labels Blind Spots And The Mirror

SPEAKER_02

misunderstanding question as a good transition. What do people misunderstand and what are the common blind spots? I know you did a lot of testing. Like, what are the common blind spots and misunderstanding people get about these, you know, these um self-evaluations?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so firstly, I mean, one of the most important things is that to define the self is is is a journey that any human being is is is on. There is no destination in terms of the until we go to the next life. So we have we are born, and then what happens between that and until we move to the next life is change. But what people will do is they will attach a label onto themselves. So for example, I am this or I am that, and then again, they've allowed a quiz to define them, and they they can relate to it because of course you can relate to it because these things are human patterns. When when you study this, when you study personality, when you study people, one of the main things you do is is pattern recognition and certain behaviors, certain traits lead to certain things, and it is it is predictable. It's predictable at any given time, depending on the way someone's acting, the way someone's thinking. But one thing I often say is most people are a different person when they're with their mother, when they're with their friends, when they're at work, and when they're at loan, when the music stops, when nobody's watching, that that that there's different persons. And so what I'm trying to advocate for is for them to understand that all the best traits that you've got in all of those situations exist within you. Also at the same time, you you need to be willing to confront. So if you accept this, if you accept that where you put your attention is the direction you go. And one thing, Elias, I think you mentioned it offline when we were having a chat before we got in, but if it was online, it's also okay. There is majesty in feeling the grass on your feet. There's majesty in looking up at the stars if you can get outside the city and just in awe of the universe. And one thing you would notice very, very quickly in nature is there is symmetry everywhere. And that symmetry speaks for the duality of men, the duality of people. We have the capacity for great evil, but we also have the capacity for great good. And it is how we choose to put our attention where we focus is the direction that we will go. So, what the personality test, what it what it can do is it's asking you, and one thing you said earlier is absolutely critical. Nobody's watching. Be honest with yourself. Don't ask yourself, who do I want to be, and answer it that way. Because anyone can do that. Answer it in a way of who am I at this moment? What it will do is it will put you on a map. It will put you on a map. It doesn't, it's not going to tell you exactly which direction you need to walk in because it doesn't ever want to own you. It wants you to take ownership, you to take responsibility. Because if in doing so, in doing so, you can choose the direction that's better for you. And and let me tell you this: no matter how bad it is, no matter how hard it is, the very fact that you breathe, the very fact that you can you can see, the very fact that you can engage with the world is already a trillion to one. It's already almost impossible that you are even here. So if you can reframe the thought into small windows of what is achievable, where can I put my attention at and where can I go? And the next stage for me would be once you've once you've gotten, it doesn't forget the results for a minute. You can do this right now. You can put your intention into an act of doing, getting out into the world. So what what let's say this? We mentioned this earlier, but I can choose to smile, I can't choose if the other person smiles back. I can choose to greet someone, I can't choose they greet back. But you know what? There's a selfishness in me choosing to greet them because I want to do it, and I'm imposing myself on the world in a way that I believe is positive, that brings me positive energy. The consequence of that is is yet unknown, but it is I've taken steps that I can own. And so, in other ways, what you can do, let's say your room's a mess, let's say your kitchen sink is full of dishes, there's a slight smell to them. You you could clean them right now, and and that is an act of doing. You've created chaos and order. And then back, Elias to the point about the inner, the inner human, this goes back to an ancient wisdom of the yin and yang. And in every single one of us, there is a balance, and it's up to you to figure out that balance. It's up to you to see your blind spots. And what the quiz can do from a technology perspective is if you're willing to look, it will show you a mirror. But this is what I say about mirrors. I hold a mirror up in the morning, I put my moisturizer on, trim my beard, and that's all I see. When I walk out, I don't know if I get food in my tooth. I don't know if I, you know, get a scratch on my face or you get what I'm saying. It is a snapshot in time. My direction for when I leave the mirror is mine, but I try to do it mindfully with in a direction I believe that my attention will bring me more, and not just me, it will give me and the surroundings more benefits than it takes away.

SPEAKER_02

You know, I hope you're really listening here, people now. I'm gonna put my serious hat. I hope you're really listening here, because this is some profound stuff here. We're not even talking about religions. I know some of you are like, ah, I don't want to hear this Christian garbage. I believe you need to believe in the higher power. That's just my opinion, but that's up to you at the end of the day. But this is about who you we are as human. This is very humanistic kind of episode. Okay, so if you wanna you if you want to accuse me of being pro-Christian spiritual, trust me. There's plenty of episodes for that, but not this one. Not with Arky Jones, not for this one. This one is my only defense. I can say I'm more humanistic than being spiritual or religious. I believe in purpose of religion. You don't have to. That's fine as long as you're not being, you know, as long as you had to take accountability for your actions and make, you know, positive choices that have great impact, I would say. That I think to me that matters more than anything. Again, I believe in the high power. You don't have to just just just do what you can. And uh, and you know, it doesn't have to you don't have to take all of it at once. I I say that because that's what I learned. I used to take everything at once, I got overwhelmed, and then I relapsed, I got worse. I'll say work on the traits that are urgent. You if you know, for example, I have family members who will get angry easily once you say one smart ass. And on top of that, accurate comment, someone ready to fight you. Okay, but if you want to change that fighty instinct and just take it as either as feedback or just dismiss it, whatever you do, just you know, just preserve your self-ownership, don't give it to other people because I know it trust me, it feels good for 10 seconds, but you know what? Someone's consequences will be very negative. And there is a woman who suffered in prison because she gets angry easily, and then she went violent, attacked even police officers and several others, and she spent time in prison because of that consequence. That one moment of anger had severe consequences for two decades. This is not trying to scare you, just look, you this is not, you know, I don't want to say anger is illegal, that's not my point. It's what you do about that angle, channel it more productively because we are gonna get angry, okay? That's just inevitable. It's not an if, it's a when in what you're going to do about it. Okay, and there's times you're gonna be sad. It's not an if, it's when you're gonna be sad. What are you gonna do about it? Is this your first time? Well, of course you're gonna go through it blindly and be graceful, learn the process, maybe develop resilience from there. You have to go through trials and challenges to build resist. Not just, I don't know, sit your, and I'm gonna try person, say you're fat ass on the couch just watching movies. That's not you know, that's not a challenge. You had to go through tough situations just to have your character molded, okay? And and that's how you actually build, you know, build it. Is it gonna be rough? Yeah, sometimes it's gonna take a while, too. But that's part of the game called Life, and all great games have great rewards and great challenges, and even better ones have choices. That's all I'm gonna say. I don't normally talk this much, but I just find this is so this is so profound. I want to make sure you're understanding this here. This is not just a simple stupid buzz-free quiz, all those fun quizzes. Oh, I put I, you know, and I can manipulate to I pick all the evil choices. Okay, I am Plankton from SpongeBob. I can manipulate that. Okay, I feel evil. Let me just do, and if I feel good, if I check a lot, I'm okay. I'm now I'm Pearl. How the heck did that happen? Now be not so with yourself, you're just messing around with it, okay? And you know, it's not it. This is something with insight and feedback that you can apply to real life and make you a better person if you decide to be honest with yourself. And like he said, and I want to emphasize this point one more time. Evaluate yourself where you're at right now, not where you want to be. Let the feedback take care of the next steps, let that influence that. But just be very honest. Where are you at right now? Maybe you should be a quiet person, and now you're so angry. Maybe someone wronged you. Why? You used to be more calm, cool, collected, quiet, but now you're angry, you snap easily. When you snap easily, yeah, be honest with that part. Don't say, oh, and the past always come quiet. No, then you're lying to yourself, and you are ruining yourself. Just be honest. That's what I'm gonna say. Just be honest when you do this, and no one's there to monitor you at the end of the day. So that's what I'm gonna say. And do yourself that favor if you want to grow. And believe me, I had some growing up to I used to be very cynical. Just think everybody was out to get me or con me in some way. And that's and that's uh that's a consequence of being raised as a New Yorker because there are a lot of con artists. You know, you you we complain about pop-up ads. What about con artists people ads, okay? Selling you cheap water and nonsense that you could get for a better price and higher quality, okay? These are things, you know, and this is why I'm bringing all these wild examples. This is all of self-awareness. If I did not have self-awareness, let's just be honest, this episode will never happen. It'll never happen. I'll just have Arky Jones, he's full of shit, wasting my time, pass. That's it. That's it. Done. I don't want to hear about it. It's personality peak garbage. It's gonna be oh, it's just a what? A paid version of Buzzfeed. Could have said that, could have said that, but there's something deeper in here, and that's why you gotta have a fair mind, a sober mind. And some of it is actually biblical, believe it or not, for those of you who are Christians, because you know being self-aware, being sober-minded is written in the Bible. I know it's not spiritual, but there is connections here, people that I make weird connections that some don't want to do because they rather just live in the box. Okay, um, religion is not included and it's not mandatory. But if you want to be a better human being, learn and grow. Be open-minded, okay? Rather you believe in God or not, that's completely, you know, that's bonus, that's you know, that's optional. All right. So that's what I'm gonna say about that. Um, anything else you wanna add?

SPEAKER_01

I mean, there is there is just I just interesting that you spoke about religion a little bit, and I won't go, I won't go into any specifics, but there is something, Elias, that you may find interesting as a concept, okay?

God As Infinite Potential

SPEAKER_01

So let us let us, for the sake of this podcast, speculate that the Big Bang occurred, okay? At some point in in the whole of history. And so what existed before the Big Bang was forever infinite potential. Infinite potential. Within that infinite potential was the potential for consciousness, was the potential for the divine, the potential for all the light that's been brought into the dark. The light represents 3% of the known universe. We're surrounded by 97% darkness. That was brought to us at spy at something by someone. The words that humans use, the word that human uses to many humans use to explain the infinite potential that occurred before whatever the Big Bang was or whatever brought about existence is God. I but one reason I use that word is that it is short, it is understandable, and it is it has majesty to it. But you see, for me, I I don't believe that human comprehension, human words can comprehend the full glory of the divine, of the creation. And so therefore, this point I'm about to make, Elias, is that we are made of the same infinite potential, both for light and dark, that the universe came from. And some would call that God the creator. Now, given that fact, given that fact, if you know that and you know that dark is nothing and light is everything, if you put your attention towards the light, you shine lights on the cracks in your life, you open the cupboard and you face whatever's inside it. Because you shine a light on it. Not only are you going to live a better life, but you are going to live a more fulfilled, honest life because you can lie to everyone, but in the cold, heart of the night, when you're when you're there, where you're alone, when you're broke, you you can't lie to yourself. And if you do, You're delusional.

SPEAKER_02

You hear that? That's profound. I mean, you know, I'm sure some of you love it when I'm argumentative or be a smart ass. I'm not gonna do it here. When it's profound and wise, I know when to be quiet and absorb it. Okay. And this is the thing. You're gonna be different. And I love, I'm gonna go back to one thing that you said so profoundly. You're not gonna be the same character in every single situation. You're gonna react differently to your boss. You know, maybe your mother, you're sweet, or you curse her out. Maybe with the boss, you kiss his butt or you curse him out for wronging you. And then with your friends, you know, especially sometimes with gender, some gender dynamics. If you're with a bunch of guys, you're gonna talk crap about sports and talk about women's body parts. With female friends, you're gonna talk about something different. Okay, unless you wanna, I don't know, be called a pig and a woman slaps you or throw you know cups at you. That you know, that's your choice. I'm not gonna tell you to do anything, but you you know, one plus one equals two. There is action, there's consequences. Okay, and you know, or you know, or maybe your female friends, you're more considerate, you're more thoughtful, you're more soft. And if a guy friends, you're rough where is oh yeah, nah, nah, fuck that referee. He made a bullshit call. Yeah, it depends. Or maybe the opposite. Maybe you're crazy, maybe you have crazier women, and then maybe I come with guys. I don't know. It's your life. You decide what is what, you know who you are. I don't. I'm just talking to you through a screen. Okay, and then with um your best friend, even that dynamic, that one is different. You've you'd be more honest with that one, okay, if you have a best friend, because even there's an epidemic of loneliness, which is sad, and I'm not gonna bash anyone with that. And look, I almost I was even there too um in my younger years because of you know, I just thought I didn't need anybody. I was smart, I was strong. I don't need all these stupid people, but we are again, if I would talk to myself a long time ago, I said, stop that crap, stop track like you're know it all, Superman, whatever, you can't do everything alone. Okay, and it's okay to receive help. If you know that person can't be trusted, you don't accept that help. But if you know that person that can be trusted, or if your gut tells you you're you're the this person is good, accept it. Accept it, okay? Now that's all I'm gonna say. Um I got all right, and stoicism and all that, and I think it's important because we I think we're losing our way how to be human. This is why a lot of these problems are have been popping up, and I think this is why it's so important. I know I'm gonna talk about spirituality more often, but you know what? And you could you could bash me in the comments, but I'm gonna bend that promise, probably to the point that it's hanging by a thread at this point because it's supposed to be more spirituality, but I had to make an exception here because I just think we cannot have spirituality while we are just losing our humanity. It just doesn't make sense. So for me, this is going back to the basics of how to be human, then we could get into the spirituality and all of that. So this is a great start for development right here. This is foundational stuff, okay? So now I'm done with my yapping. Arcis, any last words you wanna say um before I wrap this episode up?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah,

Take The Free Test And Wrap

SPEAKER_01

sure. Thank you for the opportunity, mate. So, short version is guys, um, personality P-E-E-K. All my socials are on there as well. It's been a lot of work to accumulate to this point. One thing I can assure you, if you take the test, you will get a free result that without a login, I don't even need your email, that is valuable. It is, it is, it is only a smidgen of the totality of the work, but it's enough that we'll give you an insight, a snapshot with no cost other than your attention for a few minutes. Now, remember, you'll be doom scrolling on the feed, getting your brain fed by what the algorithm thinks you need. But what this will do is it puts you back in charge. You choose exactly how you feel at the moment, and you choose to be honest with yourself. In doing so, guys, I hope it puts you on foot that you can make the next steps in your life that make your life a little bit better. Now, let me be absolutely clear. It it I would never because I struggle every day. I don't have all the answers, but what I do have is I have a map and I know my pattern. And if I can just improve something by 1%, then that is in a direction that I am happy to go in. And 1% is sometimes enough. No matter how painful it gets, remember this, guys. That one day you will die. So make sure today you live.

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_02

Again, I am not gonna argue because this is all profound stuff. I hope you're least absorbing that and a couple other things. There's a lot of value here, and I'm not just saying that because he's here, he's here. This is true value, and my gut has been, I have been listening to my gut much better. I've rejected people that seem perfect, but I'm happy I made a decision because it turns out they were bad. But people who seem eh unimpressive and sometimes crap, they end up being great. No, there's it was some of should I even book this person? I had to meditate deeply. I had to really just there was some guests. I'm happy that I didn't listen to my ego judgment part of the brain because I would have missed out a great interview. I would have missed it. And of course, there was those I made mistakes, but with those, that's easy solution. That bastard is never coming back to the podcast. That's for sure. That's an easy fix right there. I make mistakes too. Um, nobody's perfect, but improve by a little bit. Just improve by a little bit. I'm just gonna repeat what he said here because look, if you want to become crap, that's up to you. Just don't listen to this podcast because you're wasting your time. Well, you're not wasting my energy as much because it's just a machine replaying this, or I'm gonna be focused on doing other things. And soon enough, you're gonna hear my opinion about freedom of speech, because I will be going to a bar, yeah, a comedy bar by arguing freedom of speech because it's been compromised. And I feel like I need to do that. And both political parties in America in particular, they say they're for freedom of speech, but once it comes to it, they do anything to damage it and compromise it. So I gotta go there as an independent because both Democrats and Republicans suck when it comes to freedom of speech. Both of them. They and and they manipulate it. So there you go. Yes, a little political ranting, but that's my motivation. Alrighty then. So remember, what's the summary? Self-awareness, improve by a little bit, go at your own pace. If you prove by 1%, great. If you prove by 5%, even better, but work at your pace and find time to do it. And me personally, I think incremental change is much better than just trying to do a thousand things at once and then relapse and go further back. Okay, so that's all I'm gonna say about that. So, alrighty then, my listeners. I hope you really did enjoy this episode. Give a like, share, subscribe, you know, YouTube and then Rumble. Yes, I got those two, and also Norman Buzz Brown and Apple Podcasts as well. Give your opinion, feedback on rather it's positive or negative. Look, I'm a grown-ass man, I could take it. Trust me, I've got some negative feedback and it has helped this podcast improve, okay? So don't be afraid of that. Look, I got lighting, got better lighting. Even though that guest was an asshole. But you know what? There was sometimes values in assholes. Yes, there is sometimes values in assholes if you just get rid of the emotion. Not all the time, sometimes they just assholes, okay? But that one, just that particular moment, he was an asshole. All right, so alright, let me just wrap this up. So, from whenever you listen to this podcast, you have a blessed day, afternoon, or night.
